Jane Wallace has over forty years of experience in the equestrian world, covering virtually every aspect at all levels.

Born in Cambridge, she started riding at an early age and was soon spotted as showing talent, which earned her the opportunity to ride many of the top show ponies of the 1960s, winning at all the major shows including the Horse of the Year Show and Dublin.

In her early twenties, she was head girl at a high-class BHS approved riding school where she taught group and individual lessons and escorted groups out hacking. She was also responsible for allocating suitable ponies and horses for the appropriate level and experience of riders.

In 1974 she started her own yard, schooling and producing young show jumpers, pre-training racehorses and hunters. She trained and rode winners of point to points and was successful showjumping to Grade B level, winning many classes and was sent horses to train by Olympic rider, Malcolm Pyrah. She broke and trained horses to top level and was sent many different types of horses and ponies to educate. Many of these were problem horses and not easy to manage in the early stages but she had an ability to bring out the best in most horses and was able to understand what caused them to be difficult.

In 1982 she turned to eventing and won Windsor three-day event the same year.  A top ten place at Badminton a couple of years later put her on the long-list for the World Championships in Australia. In 1986 she rode on the British Team in Poland and was selected for the European Championships the following year.  She holds the record for winning Bramham three day event with the same horse on two consecutive years. In 1988 she was reserve rider for the Seoul Olympic Games and won the prestigious Burghley Three Day Event. The following year she was top lady rider at Chantilly three day event, won the individual silver medal at the European Championships and was ranked 3rd lady event rider in the world.

Jane was a highly regarded hunter judge, officiating at most major shows including the Horse of the Year Show and was a level four dressage judge. She has given lectures/demonstrations in England and taught in the UK and abroad, including America, Switzerland, Germany, Jamaica, Japan and Zimbabwe. She has been on the examining panel for the Fellowship of the British Horse Society and was a member of the Senior Selection committee for the Barcelona Olympic Games.

She continues to run a busy livery yard with high class hunters. She is a British Horse Society accredited professional coach. She gives group and individual lessons and clinics for flatwork and jumping at home and away.  She is a regular judge of the Burghley Young Event Horse class and has judged the final at Burghley. Jane has pursued her interest in racing as an acting point to point steward for twenty years, has been honorary secretary of the Fernie point to point for over a decade and joined the board at the Jockey Club owned Huntingdon racecourse, in October 2018.
